The battle cry of the unrepentant Capitalist. It is what drives Americans as a credo and defines their lives. From the youngest demands of Gimme, Gimme, I Want to the adult belief Why Yas, I Deserve It. The basic belief that resources are infinite because they have to be. Competition that must end in a winner and a loser and winners are good and losers are not as good. Cooperation is for losers.
As a group, we have to realize we are avarice junkies, addicted to accumulation without a care about why or what impact it has on anyone or anything else. The saddest part is the accompanying arrogance and hubris that lets us think humanity will somehow survive the next global shutdown, just like it did the previous ones. The clock is ticking and the odds that even the greatest Hail Mary Pass may not even be enough to recover.
